I am the sole networking engineer, providing support to 300 - 400 users. I maintain more of the infrastructure when compared to my previous position at USA Truck. I now manage all aspects of the network from ground up, an IP Phone system, & server infrastructure. I work along three PC techs in two locations, Fort Smith & Little Rock AR. I manage my wan network in conjunction with two additional networks shared with state & federal government. I will soon be taking the company virtual with VMware.

In this position, I am more technical oriented. I am focusing on administrating, and maintaining the entire server infrastructure, the primary virtualization expert, and being the backup network infrastructure person for USA Truck. I will head the technical staff up as a technical lead, and be a mentor to young IT professionals within USA Truck. I am still the primary IT purchaser for USA Truck. My role at USA Truck, Inc. was changed from the supervisory role to more of staff role because of staff reductions due to economical down turn.

In this position, I am Supervisor of the Server Team. I have two direct reports whom I manage. My role at USA Truck, Inc. has change from my previous position, which was Supervisor of Networking. In this role, my function is to focus the server team, and head them up as a technical lead. The team is tasked with write, develop, and creating high quality procedures which will help maintain the high standards of IT, maintaining server hardware, supporting Software Engineers, Database Administrators, Developers, and my team maintains several third-party applications such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM 2007), Symantec Backup Exec 11D, and VMware ESX 3. We are focusing efforts towards a dark datacenter. I also handle all of the IT ordering which, includes PCs, PC peripherals, Servers, Software for both platforms, and anything in-between.

I aided in the tutoring of lower classmates in programming, computer networking, databases, and website design and business skills. I preformed this job while taking 15 to 17 hours of college. At this job, I worked 15 hours per week.
