Originally on the Maude's Ventures @ SCU Dementia Care Innovation Project as a research assistant with 10 other peers, I am only 1 of 2 associates chosen to stay on the project, where I now serve as a subject matter expert and healthcare innovation fellow. The aim of the project has been to identify unmet needs in dementia caregiving and address those needs with technological intervention. With funding provided by Maude's Ventures we are now in the construction phase of developing a virtual reality training program applicable to both formal and informal dementia caregivers.

As an Ignatian Fellow I strive to deepen my commitment to justice through formative sessions and community-based learning experiences. In my placement I directly serve the dementia community at Hearts and Minds Activity Center – the first large capacity dementia-specific adult day program in the nation. At Hearts and Minds I am spearheading the StoriiCare Project, which has been designed with the goal of creating more individualized programs and activities. To achieve the objectives of this the StoriiCare Project I have been individually interviewing participants, updating participant care profiles, coordinating with administrators, and designing and carrying out customized activities.

Through funding granted by the Clare Boothe Luce Foundation I have been conducting research in the Islas Laboratory at Santa Clara University that will add to the body of knowledge related to dementia biomarkers and disease progression. My investigation centers around a comparative analysis of telomere shortening and APOE genotype in a primary cell line.

Work as a Contracted Embedded Tutor for varying levels of mathematics including Path to Calculus, Analytical Trigonometry, Elementary Probability and Statistics, and Calculus with Analytic Geometry I. As an embedded tutor I lead virtual break-out rooms of 5-10 students during class time that is designated for problem solving. Beyond scheduled class meetings I strive to enhance student engagement and increase concept mastery by organizing and facilitating study sessions, and managing class Discord channels.

As an SI I provided in-class assistance and collaborated closely with the professor to monitor student progress as well as ensure that class objectives were being met. Outside of lecture instruction, I created extensive lesson plans and held weekly supplemental instruction sessions.

As a dual intern in human resources and finances I was tasked with identifying areas in each department that needed to be audited in order to adhere to organizational and compliance standards. I held an instrumental role in creating new efficiencies for the new hire Onboarding process and in auditing the stock reward system and tax document portals.
