I am the Founder & CEO of Yardstick Services Inc and WordZite Security. But more importantly, I am a passionate supporter of small businesses as they make up over 90% of BC's economy. My personal goal is to use my knowledge and experience to help support small and medium-sized businesses in BC. The way that I continue to achieve that goal is through my two web agencies that are both committed to providing outstanding service while leveraging best-practices in an unregulated and ever-changing industry.I started Yardstick Services in late 2006 as yet another Vancouver-based consulting firm. While working on a number of business development projects, I bore witness to the pain felt by clients trapped in the old models of web design. I was tired of hearing clients tell me their websites weren't doing what they wanted for their business. So, I decided to create a better business model to focus on what small business owners want most – more phone calls, emails and walk-in traffic.WordZite Security is our more recent venture that was born out of a need to secure the WordPress website we built. Our team has spent thousands of man-hours over the past decade researching and documenting a wide-range of best-practices related to ensuring WordPress websites were secure but also loading quickly with maximum uptime. My role is to educate business owners about WordPress security and help them mitigate risks associated with corporate websites.I have a background in quality control management, operations management, and regional management from my time in BC’s fishing and home renovation industries. My undergrad is a BSc from the University of British Columbia. I completed my MBA in Management of Technology at Simon Fraser University in 2010.I am an avid networker and am proud to say that the vast majority of my LinkedIn connections are the result of real interactions or relationships. Therein, I am extremely proud of my many long-standing personal and professional relationships.I live with my wife and two children in Port Moody. With the little spare time I have these days, I enjoy watching Premier League or Champions League soccer, playing guitar, playing video games and reading best selling business books. Guilty pleasure...I've read over 40 Star Wars novels.
