In my tenure at Riverbed on the RAP (Riverbed Acceleration Program) I was working in the Systems Engineer (SE) team. This experience has allowed me to acquire a greater understanding of how the technology Riverbed uses works and how it benefits the customers that they service. My understanding of the technology is displayed in the certifications I achieved there, becoming certified in WAN Optimisation technology and Network and Application Performance Management. At Riverbed I was able to transfer my skills developed at Hewlett Packard in using Salesforce.com and Microsoft Excel to create a database of products and where they exist within their current customer base. This database allowed managers and sales specialists what products where in which customer in one single view. This will allow them to target customers in certain ways and to be able to align the correct systems engineer to the appropriate account.

I was one of only two successful candidates to secure a position at HP in the Networking business for my intern year. HP Networking is part of the HP Enterprise group delivering enterprise class hardware IT solutions to the UK’s largest organisations. HP Networking is a growth business, taking market share by being a disrupter and acquiring new business from the competition. It is split into two categories Public Sector and Commercial. I spent a six months in each sector. This rotation gave me a very broad experience and exposure to two very diverse markets.I was mainly responsible for the supply chain element of the Networking business, this involved acquiring what materials the customers wanted to order from the deals to close in the quarter and communicate these with supply chain. This allowed them sufficient time to line up the stock and prevent any delays in delivery, a significant improvement was made here when I achieved above 90% coverage of all orders for three consecutive quarters.
