Matt has directed experience strategy and design projects for clients such as Google, Prime Minister’s Office of Dubai, 11th Hour and The Ocean Race, World Expo 2020 and '25, California Academy of Science, Victoria & Albert Museum, Samsung, Toyota and Philips. Tellart’s work has won many top awards including the National Design Award (Smithsonian and White House, USA). Their work is a part of the permanent collection of the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian National Design Museum in New York. Matt is an internationally recognized speaker and professor of design. He has been a member of the Core Faculty at Copenhagen Institute for Interaction Design (CIID, Denmark), an Adjunct Professor at Umeå Institute of Design (UID, Sweden), Visiting Faculty at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, and a member of the Rhode Island School of Design faculty for ten years (RISD, USA).Matt holds both Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Industrial Design degrees from RISD, as well as a Masters of Fine Arts in Interaction Design from Umeå University. In addition to his design education and practice, Matt has been an Advanced Life Support Paramedic on the United States’ federal disaster medical team and National Ski Patrol. He is also an Ocean Yachtmaster (RYA), Rescue Diver (PADI), and member of Royal Ocean Racing Club. Matt has completed a full Atlantic Circuit on racing yachts, navigated from the Azore Islands to England using a sextant and continues to compete in sailing races around the world. Matt grew up in Rehoboth, Massachusetts and lived for many years in Newport, Rhode Island before moving to Amsterdam in The Netherlands in 2009.
