OwnerPro Service Processing Sep 2020 - Jun 2022Operations agency serving homeowners.I’d partner with mortgage brokers and they’d send me all their deals.I communicated directly with the homeowner / home buyer, underwriter, title company, homeowner’s insurance agent, and all other parties with the purpose of getting the borrowers’ loans “clear to close”.Operationally intensive business. Seasonal (like all mortgage businesses). I didn’t have control over sales. If the brokers had deals, I did, but if they didn’t, I didn’t.The refinance and home-buying process is inefficient. 20+ people make money on each transaction. The whole process will be different in 20 years.

Wife also sold daily with me.Biggest lesson I learned:Don’t sell products you don’t believe in. I liked Xfinity and Directv more than I liked DishTV. Felt like I was doing a disservice every time I sold it. Grateful for the experience because I learned that lesson. I will only sell products/services I truly believe in going forward. -

I reconciled data with other databases to make sure it was accurate. But I did get work with some cool professors and see how they research and publish papers, which was cool. -
Operations For General Partner FundBridge Grow Capital Fund Ii Lp Nov 2018 - Feb 2019Another BYU student started a small fund (sub $100k) and I joined his team. The fund invested in bridge loans. Here’s how they worked:Person wanted a $50k business loan but their credit score was too bad. Our fund pays off their credit cards ($2k-$10k average) and charge hefty fees (varied by state laws but often north of 30%).Their credit score improves and they qualify for the $50k loan. They immediately pay us back plus our fee with the capital from the business loan. Then they use the rest of their business loan for their business.Risky investment, hence the hefty risk-adjusted fee.Average bridge loan duration was a few weeks.Over 1 quarter we got a 68% IRR and I got to help with the K1s.I assisted with operations. I’d login to the customer’s account while on the phone with them and pay off their credit cards. Helped 30-40 of these people while I worked there. Then I’d be in charge of collections as well. Not my favorite part, but I understand why it’s needed.Great learning experience. Left because I prioritized school and it was taking a lot of time.
