Kenya Airways is a leading African passenger and cargo airline flying to 56 destinations worldwide – 46 of which are in Africa – and carrying over four million passengers annually. My role with the airline involves managing a portfolio of leading travel trade partners in Kenya among them being BCD Travel, FCM Charleston Travel, CWT Bunson, Incentive Travel and Express Travel. Together with that, I handle Key Corporate Accounts serviced by these trade partners (Travel Management Companies) i.e. United Nations, US Embassy, Africa Union, International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE), Diageo, AMREF, World Agroforestry Center, Safaricom, Airtel, Kenya Commercial Bank, Trade Development Bank, Africa Development Bank among many others. I have an annual budget of USD 37 Million which forms my annual target. I also play an active role in building and maintaining good relationship with the Joint Venture (JV) colleagues to leverage on the benefit from the partnership like Flying Blue loyalty program for individuals and BlueBiz program for corporates, Skyteam Global Meetings product- which is a Meeting, Incentive, Conference and Events product. The role also involves internal liaison and offering cross functional support to customers across various departments like Pricing and Revenue Management, Cargo, Ground Operations, Outstation, Revenue Integrity, Reservations, Ancillary, Medical Team, E-commerce, Customer Experience Center, Loyalty, Inflight, Security and Finance. I also gather and disseminate market intelligence to ensures KQ's competitive position and have supported the implementation of Amadeus TDNA, a 360 degrees Customer Experience Management tool, Amadeus Altea Corporate Recognition tool and IATA Travel Pass Project. I manage the Closed User Group (CUG) program within the Kenya Sales Team under MICE niche segment and have established a good working relationship between Kenyan Airways and a network of Kenyan Banks
