As a Advancement Coordinator I'm part of a great team that manages the lifecycle of a family and facility as they journey through our school. This is an insanely interesting and creative role! I got to this place because as an educator, photographer and film maker I spent a long time focusing on developing and curating the experiences of families and staff at international schools. It's such a pleasure to be able to communicate their excellent work through human-centered, visual storytelling.I keep a presence in the classroom, notably through digital media teaching to enhance art programs, and as a teacher I like to find cross-disciplinary opportunities and transform those synergies into enduring and rewarding learning experiences for students and colleagues. As a photographer and film maker my work is centered on advocacy and empowerment, enriching the lives of others through powerful photographic storytelling, short films, and education. I like to connect the dots, empower people through education, and share those experiences with the world.The path to this professional point in my life has been long and varied. I am or have been a small business owner, marketer, media production assistant, teacher-leader of school and community education programs in visual storytelling, photography, filmmaking, digital art, screenwriting, English literature, psychology, middle school science, performing arts, visual art, world history and EFL.I cut my teeth working in the media in England, first in newspaper advertising, then screenwriting for film & TV, and then radio production for the BBC, before moving into freelance photography and media education. My love of the arts and humanities marries with a belief in rigorous and inspirational education to create a safe, progressive and fun learning environment. Throughout my career these threads have continuously interwoven to provide me with a rich and flexible skill-set centered on enriching the lives of others.
