As a self-taught software developer with an Economics Master’s from Yale, I bring over two years of professional experience in software development, applied statistics, and data analysis, mostly in the academic sectors of Economics and Genetics. I am looking to apply this experience and my abilities as a quantitatively and technically skilled self-starter to roles in professional software development, data engineering and data science.At Yale, I began as a PhD student in Economics, where I developed strong quantitative and problem-solving skills. My professional experience developing software as a research assistant had already sparked an interest in software development, which grew as I wrote software for research projects during the first two years of my PhD studies. I found the process of creating tools and solving technical problems deeply motivating. This realisation has led me to conclude my academic journey with a Master's degree after two years, shifting my career path to software engineering.In my academic career, I have leveraged my software development expertise and domain knowledge to write performant, reliable, and maintainable software to solve problems on the academic frontier, leading to multiple publications. At Yale, I have taken courses in Algorithms and Deep Learning, supplementing my self-directed computer science education through which I've expanded my technical repertoire through personal projects in various programming languages. My resulting technical toolbox spans Python, Rust, JavaScript, SQL, and Julia, and I have a strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals such as design patterns, data structures, and algorithm optimisation required to write performant, scalable and reliable software.
