I am at my best when challenged and given the autonomy to be creative and strategic. Kemper Financial Services provided the perfect environment for professional development and personal success.This is where I discovered my strengths and motivators.As Workflow Project Coordinator,I worked closely with Managers and Supervisors to ensure accurate documentation and obtain candid expectations.Writing timely in-house articles,based on interviews with portfolio managers,was my introduction to journalism.My skills were easily transferable to my next demanding roles of primary parent and handy person.Workflow knowledge helped me convert my depressing and non-functional 70's kitchen into a modern,bright,and efficient room for creating,experimenting and enjoying a variety of ethnic cuisines.Communication skills exercised both my indoor and outdoor voices,specifically during music practice time,homework time,and soccer games.I was multi-tasking long before it became a job requirement.Fast forward,without warp speed,to the past ten years,when I managed a museum's operations and created their rental policy to increase revenues.This is where I learned to communicate with vendors to get the job done and the equipment repaired,on time,and at the best price. Softwareprograms came and went.Financial transactions went from paper to plastic to electronic.I too needed a change,so I decided to become a free-agent for a competitive fee.Given my extensive and diverse work in educational issues,from parent-recruit to parent association president, the non-profit sector was a logical choice.I attended informative and educational workshops and immersed myself in the fiduciary process of board service for a variety of organizations.Once my family successfully launched, I turned to my passions of literature, art, and music.The AIC is my go-to charger,so my volunteer time is more treat than service. People and projects continue to engage my mind and voice.
