Maksym Dedushko, Ph.D. Email and Phone Number
My name is Maksym Dedushko and my background includes managing all aspects of research projects from initiation to completion in order to transform fundamental scientific knowledge into new technologies. I possess deep knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analysis, research methods, and data processing automation. Adept at recognizing, analyzing, and directing research efforts in nature-based solutions. I am highly skilled in performing and interpreting field research to facilitate innovative development strategies. I have strong ability in physical investigative methods such as UV/Visible, Raman, IR, Nuclear Magnetic, and Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Spectroscopies; Stopped-Flow Spectrophotometry; Mass Spectrometry and Gas Chromatography; Electrochemistry.I have synthesized a number of small biomimetic molecules and organic ligand frameworks that mimic active sites of oxygen-activating enzymes and an oxygen evolving complex in photosystem II. I am technically inclined individual with proficiencies in Gaussian and ORCA quantum chemical software, Python, Matlab, Javascript, and Shell scripting; ChemDraw, Avogadro, Chimera, SciFinder, and Mercury.Following are some of the highlights of my career:☛ Formulated procedures for producing novel molecules, resulted in securing the NSF grant worth $0.5M. ☛ Designed structural and electronic features of molecular reactive species via semi-empirical (Density Functional Theory) and ab initio (CASSCF) quantum chemical simulations.☛ Published two first-author and two second-author research articles in a clear and concise manner by developing three novel techniques along with working on two more articles.☛ Established lab-wide automation for large data processing, analysis, and visualization with Shell, Matlab, and Python scripting.☛ Generated two DNA constructs and performed sequencing for subsequent confirmation for accelerating the rate of project completion by half a year in the lab (relative to an average of 1.5-year project lifetime).I have excellent communication, interpersonal, and judgment skills; able to translate findings into presentation and reports for dissemination. While others take pride in meeting all standards set before them, my passion is for delivering service that goes beyond organizational expectations, creating a win-win scenario for everyone involved! Please feel free to contact me at mdedushko@gmail.com with any thoughts, comments, or questions about my work—I’m always interested in making new professional acquaintances.
