Dr. Ma. Cecilia Licuan is an advocate of quality education, research, community work and service programs for persons with disabilities. She is passionate in promoting quality education and teaching in the academe and the conduct of research related to PWDs. She has been teaching in the academe for more than two decades and is currently serving as a full-time professor and Clinical Professor focused on Pediatric Physical Therapy Clinical Practice Training and Research at the College of Rehabilitation Sciences of De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute where she is currently serving as Dean (August 2023 to present, 2008-2015). She is also engaged as a peer reviewer of research studies for the International Journal of Learning, Teaching and Educational Research, a Scopus-Indexed Journal, the Philippine Journal of PT, and International Academic Forum. Currently, Dr. Licuan is also affiliated for more than a decade as an Associate Professorial Lecturer at the graduate school programs of the College of Education at De La Salle University – Manila and De La Salle University-Dasmarinas. She is also a former part-time professor at the College of Education Graduate Studies Departments of the University of the Philippines – Diliman, St. Paul University- Manila, and University of Perpetual Help System – DALTA for the Doctoral and Masters Degree Programs in Education with specialization in special education and educational leadership. Dr. Licuan is a graduate of BSPT (1997-DLSMHSI), MAE major in Educational Management (2000-De La Salle University – Dasmarinas / Summa Cum Laude) and PhD major in Special Education (2007-University of the Philippines – Diliman / Summa Cum Laude). She also completed her online fellowship at London Academy of Sports and Health Sciences United Kingdom in the year 2016 earning her Diploma in Pediatric Rehabilitation and has completed her Certificate of Specialization in Leadership and Management in Harvard Business School Online in the year 2022.As part of her community service, Dr. Licuan serves as an Accreditor of the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) for more than a decade and was a recipient of the PAASCU James Meany Award in 2018. She is also a member of the PAASCU Commission for Allied Health Sciences Program. Dr. Licuan is also a PT Program Evaluator of the Regional Quality Assurance Team (RQAT) of the Commission on Higher Education (Region IV-A) and an advanced wheelchair clinician and trainer trained under UCP-WHO to modify the device for advanced cases.
