FPGA Development and Verification for aviation related hardware.

* Some Board design, FPGA architecture, and development for another unit that receives, analyzes, and responds to transponder signal -- this time with more power.* Architect, develop and maintain firmware that receives, analyzes, and responds to a variety of avionics radio transponder specifications (SIF/ATCRBS, TACAN, DME, etc.) in an Intel Arria 10 FPGA. Design leverages SoC with DDR3 memory interfacing with the FPGA fabric.* Developed updated board design for earlier model transponder tester, updating several major components due to obsolescence, including planning new microprocessor and FPGA resources, DDR2 memory, etc. Also included writing new firmware for the FPGA to account for the new design.* Developed firmware for a radar altimeter simulation test device. Involved high speed timing and latency management for pulse mode delayed signal creation for pulse mode radios, and FM demodulation and signal analysis for FMCW/CDF radios.* Developed firmware to support a GPS simulation device. FPGA designed Included PCI interface design and connecting with the TI OMAP's GPMC.

• Developed VHDL for verification of an FPGA for a device that provides video to an LCD display and status and control of devices in the overhead unit.• Refined processes for developing programmable logic devices to comply with the DO-254 directive for complex logic devices.• Developed firmware for FPGAs for control and manipulation of a video data stream for aircraft Head-Up Displays

• Development and test of a servo motor control board for a camera on a vehicle mounted turret. Involved VHDL design of the status and control FPGA, and full board debug and test of PWM motor drivers.• Design of a VHDL module for serial gigabit communications using the Serial Front Panel Data Port (SFPDP) protocol.• Integration and testing and further development of the overall board with the SFPDP module on the front-end in VHDL, and RACE++ interface in Verilog on the backend.• Design and development of a personal tracking device for people under house arrest. Involves very low power development and some RF design for FSK transmission and receipt.

• Design and development of a command and status decoder board for two flight units, including all analysis for interfaces and timing.
