During his time at Warwick Matt designed a new institutional approach to embedding enterprise activity in departments, created an extra curricula student training programme for entrepreneurial development, delivered staff training on curriculum design and development, and mentored colleagues to become EEUK Fellows.

Matt worked at the Royal Agricultural University as a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship. In this role he managed the undergraduate business degrees, led modules across the programmes, and developed research projects exploring entrepreneurship education in a number of different contexts.
