I have been a Research Software Engineer since 2019, working on dozens of projects across multiple academic disciplines and with partners at Newcastle University and other institutions, including The Alan Turning Institute. My specialism is in data visualisation, but also experience with web development, data analytics and mobile app development.I graduated from Newcastle University with a BSc in Computer Science and an MSc in Computer Games Engineering. I worked as a Game Programmer for two years before returning to university to start my PhD, which involved using video game technology to produce real-time engineering simulations. I then went on to be a Research Associate before joining the Newcastle RSE Team.My studies and experience have made me a very competent and adaptive software developer, with experience in a range of programming languages. I also have experience with graphics, physics, web, database, interface, sound and network programming, as well as cloud-based data analytics and data visualisation.In my spare time, I am a keen gamer, and also enjoy designing and developing my own games. I also enjoy photography, music and reading/writing fiction.
