Applied in the sense of looking for a solution to a problem (in methodology or equipment) more than purely academic investigation. Technology: Evaluating new products and technologies. Competitive intelligence.My approach:Planning - Identify goals and determine both intermediate and final metrics of success. Preparation - Determine knowledge and resource requirements. Identify skills needed either through learning or collaboration.Execution - Design and construct working prototypes/models/proposals. Analysis - Analyze expected versus observed data and formulate continued plan of action.Maybe not groundbreaking stuff, but it was learned by doing, not watching.Running my own company was an extension of the problem solving mantra. Starting in media and marketing deliverables, it evolved to industrial design solutions understanding that the internal infrastructure of big companies often moves too slowly to efficiently fulfill smaller, more specialized needs. On a personal note I enjoy hiking, photography and being outdoors.
