Meagan oversaw all non-technical operations of this rapidly growing space technology and mining startup, with a focus on executive management and team building. She was also directly responsible for fundraising, human resources, IT infrastructure and operations, marketing, accounting and budgeting, facilities, public relations, and all other non-technical business functions.Deep Space Industries was acquired by Bradford Space in 2018.

While no longer competition manager, Meagan is still actively involved in the NewSpace Business Plan Competition in her current position on the Board of Directors for the Center for Space Commerce and Finance. The NewSpace Business Plan Competition, a project of the Center for Space Commerce and Finance, aims to assist in the development of entrepreneurial ventures in the space industry while catalyzing deal flow through introductions to investors and potential market partners.

Meagan primarily developed top-level corporate communications strategies and oversaw implementation of coherent and consistent messaging across the web, social media, print media and internal corporate communications. She also completed diverse types of management consulting projects for a wide range of clients, including everything from financial modeling of complex systems, to employee retention strategies, and more. Hexagroup is a boutique consulting firm that provides strategy consulting services to a wide range of clients across many industries, with a focus on and passion for energy industry customers in the Houston area. Services include: corporate communications strategy, creation, and deployment, marketing, public relations, and technology solutions ranging from web implementation to specialized software development.

Highly successful music and event production company, providing weekly events and large, seasonal concerts throughout Texas from 2008 - 2011. Targeted relationship marketing and social media influence techniques grew this company from a start-up to the largest company of its kind in the southern US, in less than 2 years. An exit at a market high point created significant value for investors and founders.

Meagan created and taught unique curriculum, based on real-world scenarios and relevant business case studies. She developed projects, tests, and assignments to accurately reflect the improvement in communications skills among students with widely differing skill sets in English language and business etiquette.

Developed a proprietary valuation program for the technology transfer office to consistently and accurately estimate future value and revenue potential of NASA technologies and proposed business spin-offs. Performed analysis of overall office efficiency and identified several key areas that required further development, including internal and external outreach, deal flow efficiency, and information availability and consolidation, then developed and executed specific programs to address these issues. Part-time position in conjunction with final year of the Rice MBA program.

Completed 1099 Non-profit tax return and communicated results and troubleshot problems with the NAWMBA national finance oversight committee and board of directors. Developed a long term marketing strategy and created associated print and online marketing materials.

Rice University Action Learning Project Identified key success factors in the funding process for biotech start-up ventures.Researched the criteria used by non-profit foundations, venture capitalists, angel investors, and research institutions willing to fund or participate in early stage testing of medical devices and pharmaceuticals.

Multi-million dollar privately funded manufacturer of all-natural herbal products and supplements. Performed pre-startup market segmentation analysis and evaluated potential product lines, marketing avenues, distribution methods, and pricing structures in the herbal supplement market. Developed and implemented online marketing campaigns for three business divisions and 20 initial products. Administered an affiliate program, E-bay store, search engine optimization program and key-word campaigns. Managed the IT and graphic design team through website development, production, and implementation.

Personal Financial Management division of Citigroup focused on providing comprehensive solutions for families. Marketed and sold Citigroup financial products and services such as mutual funds, 529 college savings plans, life insurance policies, annuities and legal protection plans. Earned Series 6 and 63 Securities Licenses and Texas Life and Health Insurance License.
