Meagan Guthrie serves as the Director of Addiction Response for Hamilton County, leading the Hamilton County Addiction Response Coalition, a 20-member committee dedicated to tackling the opiate crisis and broader addiction challenges in the region. She oversees the Quick Response Team, a collaboration of 10 navigators and law enforcement officers, which has processed over 11,400 referrals and supported 6,800 individuals, contributing to a 31% reduction in overdose deaths.Guthrie actively manages regional and local OneOhio Opiate Settlement funds, ensuring they are strategically invested in prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts to benefit Ohioans both now and in the future. Guthrie supports innovative initiatives like the Medication for Opioid Use Disorder induction program at the Justice Center, the CARE Pods program which provides 90 beds for incarcerated individuals with mental health and substance use disorders, the Drug Treatment and Recovery Court, and the Hamilton County Heroin Task Force.A committed leader in public health, safety, and community coalition-building, Guthrie has secured over $8.4 million in federal and state funding for 16 key initiatives. Her work has earned her the 2022 Angel Award, and she currently serves as Chairperson of the Ohio Deflection Association. Her expertise is recognized nationally, with presentations to the Congressional House Caucus on Addiction Treatment and Recovery and the Executive Director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, as well as speaking engagements at major summits and conferences. A proud Xavier University alumna, Guthrie holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics, and the Public Honors Program and a master’s degree in Private Interest and the Public Good.
