I conduct Section 7 consultations with federal agencies to ensure protection of endangered species and their critical habitat per the Endangered Species Act. I synthesize the best available data/research to understand effects of different stressors on various life stages of endangered species in the Greater Atlantic Region (i.e., Atlantic and shortnose sturgeon, sea turtles, and whales). I assess effects of various water quality parameters (nutrients, total suspended solids, DO) on ESA-listed species.

Working in support of NOAA Fisheries to conduct section 7 consultations with federal action agencies to protect species and critical habitat listed by NOAA Fisheries under the Endangered Species Act. I synthesize research and data related to water quality requirements for endangered species, including Atlantic and shortnose sturgeon, sea turtles, and whales. I work closely with the EPA to produce a programmatic consultation which will streamline the section 7 consultation process. I assist with other projects including editing and review of a public-facing report about a new framework for analysis of proposed aquaculture projects, a checklist to streamline analysis of impacts to ESA-listed species from proposed internal projects, and creation of GIS maps to show details of facility discharge in relation to designated critical habitat.

Collected remote sensing data using LiDAR to map current conditions of the forests and to understand future trends in forest cover. Compiled point cloud data using CloudCompare to visualize how an invasive species, Hemlock Wholly Adelgid, affect current and future growth of hemlocks in Central Massachusetts.

Sampled multiple freshwater sites in the Mystic River watershed for chlorophyll, phosphorous, and turbidity. Conducted lab analysis of turbidity using turbidimeter and filtering of chlorophyll for further analysis. Prepared water samples for further EPA analysis of phosphorous.

Managed monthly Choose to Reuse events with over 250 participants per month to promote sustainability in the workplace. Was responsible for spending, management of meetings, and all activities associated with the Working Green Committee.
