I developed an experimental setup for robot-assisted beating-heart surgery. The ultimate goal was to develop a system which would allow the surgeon to operate on a beating heart. My setup made a robotic surgical tool follow the motion of a point on the beating heart. This resulted in the point on the heart appearing stationary with respect to the surgical.
