As a senior software engineer at CommerceHub, I guided a six person dev-opsteam through the development, release, and support of a full-stack isomorphic webapplication using NodeJS, React, and Redux. I worked with the system architect to design the application architecture, and with the product owner and engineeringmanager to breakdown and scope the project into work tickets forimplementation by developers. As technical lead on the project, I alsomentored junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, anddiscussion; developed application code, unit-tests, and build-scripts;designed a continuous integration pipeline using npm, bamboo, artifactory, andchef; and guided the development, application, and evolution of bestpractices.Also at CommerceHub, I managed a weekly knowledge-sharing series within theengineering department, seeking out and supporting participants from within thecompany to present to the team on a topic of interest. Since taking the leadon managing the series, I developed and implemented strategies for maintaininginterest and participation through historically slow periods; expanding interestwithin the department and the larger company, including remote presentationsto and from our other locations; getting a broader variety of presentersincluding more juniors and presenters from other departments; expanding thescope of the series to broader topics of interest; and recording anddissemintating presentations for posterity. In other roles at CommerceHub, I developed a variety of Java and Groovyapplications, involving actor model systems, SQL Databases, and third partyREST services; set up a testing environment for end-to-end load testing of ourdata processing system; anaylzed the timing of work in our load testenvironment to understand and mitigate bottle necks; and developed a dashboardin R/Shiny to monitor load characteristics for our production system.

At Schneider Electric, I worked as a firmware engineer, developing embedded applications in C,including PID control systems for power electronics; USB,serial, MODBUS, and ZigBee communications systems; a user interface based on pushbuttons, a beeper, indicator LEDs, and a character LCD; data acquisitionand signal processing of analog signals; and phase locked loops. This work targeted a number ofdevices including Texas Instruments DSPs, dsPICs, and cortex M-seriesmicroprocessors; and utilized a variety of common peripherals including ADCs,DACs, timers, input capture devices, and UARTs. Work included both hard- andsoft- real time applications, including a real-time operating system. Severaldefensive patents arose from this work including WO2014098863 ("Method andApparatus for Determining Characteristics of an Input Signal"), and 8,700,936("Modular gating of microprocessor low-power mode"), for which I was soleinventor.
