At the VU University of Amsterdam I developed an interest in education and technology. During my working career, I have worked mostly at the intersection between business and IT in the educational domain. Currently, I'm focussing on the application of artificial intelligence technologies to solve some of today’s educational challenges. I believe this technology can play an important role in providing the best learning resources to each student and free up teachers’ time. EDIA's product offering (https://www.edia.nl) is aimed at educational content creators and publishers. We use natural language processing and machine learning techniques to extract valuable data from unstructured content. This automates processes such as content labeling (metadata tagging) which improves content reuse and enables personalized learning solutions.
