PennSERVE encourages, develops, and facilitates volunteerism and community service, which builds upon the talents, strengths, opportunities and challenges of people and communities in ways which enhance the quality of life for residents of Pennsylvania. Annually, PennSERVE funds and supports 25 or more AmeriCorps programs and planning grants that address the Commonwealth’s needs in the areas of education, economic opportunity, healthy futures, veterans and military families, environmental stewardship, capacity building, and COVID-19 response.

The Annie E. Casey Foundation is a private national philanthropy that creates better futures for the nation's children by strengthening families, building economic opportunities and transforming neighborhoods into safer and healthier places to live, work and grow.

The Maryland Governor's Office on Service and Volunteerism (GOSV) supports over 1,000 AmeriCorps members through its grant-making program. In addition, the GOSV advocates for effective volunteer program management and recognizes volunteer service across the state on behalf of the Governor of Maryland. Each year, 200,000 Maryland volunteers are recognized by the Governor’s Office through activities and services provided by the GOSV.

Volunteer Maryland builds stronger, healthier communities by empowering all Marylanders to take action. Each year, Volunteer Maryland partners with nonprofits across Maryland to help them develop or improve direct service volunteer programs. Leveraging thousands of volunteers, Volunteer Maryland AmeriCorps members enable nonprofit organizations to provide more services, improve the effectiveness of their volunteer programs, and increase organizational capacity to manage volunteers.

Experience Corps engages people over 55 in meeting their communities’ greatest challenges. In cities across the country, Experience Corps members tutor and mentor elementary school students struggling to learn to read. Independent research shows that Experience Corps boosts student academic performance, helps schools and youth-serving organizations become more successful, and enhances the well-being of the older adults in the process.

Each year, more than 1,000 young people, ages 18-26, participate in AmeriCorps NCCC, a team-based residential service program that strengthens communities and develops leaders. NCCC members provide disaster relief, tutor children, build homes for low-income families, help preserve the environment, and much more.Sadly, my NCCC campus in Washington, DC closed. But AmeriCorps NCCC remains a strong program impacting communities across the country, as well as the AmeriCorps members who serve.

The Florida Alliance for Student Service included multiple programs, including the statewide service-learning grant programs Florida Community/Higher Education/School Partnership (CHESP) and the Florida Service, Preparedness and Response Coalition (SPaRC). Florida CHESP supported local multi-sector partnerships among institutions of higher education, K-12 schools, and community based organizations that promote social capital, increase meaningful service and civic participation, and strengthen the ability of those communities to meet local needs. Florida SPaRC represented a statewide coalition of school and community partnerships that worked to develop and expand models of K-12 service learning that addresses hometown safety and homeland security.
