I am a New York Times bestselling author, and winner of the 2017 David Gemmell Legend Award for Best Fantasy Novel. My fiction is published by Black Library and Angry Robot imprints, and I have many novels, novellas, audio dramas and short stories to my credit. I have worked on numerous tabletop and video games as designer, writer and world creation consultant. I have delivered writing workshops and regularly appear on discussion panels at literature and genre events. Over the fourteen years I spent with Games Workshop I worked in many roles, including staff writer, copywriting, games developer, project management and a couple of years as a department manager. Over this time my primary work has been as a writer and Games Designer/ Developer working on science fiction and fantasy miniatures wargames. Working as part of a design studio comprising miniatures designers, artists, writers and sales support (marketing, in-house publishing and so forth) I have filled the role of Lead Developer on many projects over the years, contributing written and design material and co-ordinating the production of books. In that time I occupied the position of management over the Warhammer tabletop games system and its developers. However, it is in a creative lead role that my greatest interest and skills lie and so I have concentrated on managing relationships between creative team members and those managerial skills required for effective project co-ordination.In addition to these internal roles, as Warhammer Loremaster and Senior Background Designer I advised Games Workshop's licensing department and licensees on computer games, roleplaying games and other ventures using the Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 IP.
