Paramedics (titled Advanced Practice Paramedics by HCA Healthcare), as part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, bridge the gap between the patient and physician by working in concert with the attending nurse to provide treatment, medication administration, and various medical procedures to assist in ensuring the best possible patient care and outcomes possible. Paramedics provide this care by working semi-autonomously to "bridge the gap." Inherent in the position is the ability for the paramedic to be highly self motivated and take initiative.
