I was asked to apply to the position by the head of Marketing. As a Content Manager, I added new operators to the system and would train the travel agents on how to navigate the new booking websites. I would also keep seven operator's promotion and itineraries up-to-date. Even using my contacts from being a travel agent to get promotions before the general public. I also helped create more awareness of my operators with the travel agents by organizing teeshirt, and other merchandise giveaways.

My job at AffordableTours.com was a Travel Consultant; this includes finding people the escorted tour or river cruise that fitted their wish list the closest. To do this, I had to in-depth knowledge of various escorted tour providers, including Globus, Cosmos, Trafalgar, Insight Vacations, Tauck, and Gate1, to name a few. I also needed to explain the differences between the major river cruise companies, such as Viking, Avalon, Uniworld, and Ama Waterways. Among my other responsibilities is the customer service to every client I book. Included scheduling and booking their flight arrangements or advising clients on connection times if they booked their air. Close to departing, I made sure the client has received their documents and has provided the operators with emergency contact information. As well as taking care of my clients before they departed on their vacation, I also dealt with any problem that came up after they left. An example of this includes coordinating transfers with the operators after a volcano eruption in Costa Rica. Additional duties include knowing the promotions that each tour company is running and making sure that my invoices with the operators match what I am charging the clients.My level of customer service led me to have the highest repeat client percentage in my training class.
