About Meg Meyer

As of June 2023, I have successfully completed the Wetland Science and Management Certificate Program through the University of Washington. I enrolled in this program to further my goal of transitioning my career into environmental and ecological sciences. For the past two years, I have focused my time on professional training and volunteer work involving wetlands, including: obtaining a world water watch- water quality monitoring certification, volunteering with Puget Soundkeeper as a salmon surveyor at Longfellow Creek, and volunteering with Nisqually River Council, conducting forage fish surveys and benthic macroinvertebrate sampling. My current position with Habitat Restoration Specialists LLC involves working in wetlands, forests, and urban settings all throughout King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties. This is all-day, outdoor work that requires expertise in plant identification, use and maintenance of equipment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions. I currently hold the herbicide applicator’s license for the company and am responsible for holding my team accountable and leading them in proper pesticide application techniques required by the Washington State Department of Agriculture standards. I ensure our team meets all requirements by maintaining the necessary pesticide application logs; collecting, managing, and summarizing accurate field data; and instructing crew members on best management practices. In addition to my technical qualifications, I bring enthusiasm to this work and a positive attitude, no matter the weather. I would love to have the opportunity to provide my knowledge and skills to help restore and protect Washington's natural areas. I am interested in ecological and environmental science roles.
