As I look at the world around me, I know now, more than ever people such as myself are needed in the social sciences. It is my hope that one day I will make an impact in the community I serve. Currently, I am a student at Lewis University, graduating in December of 2021 getting my Bachelors's degree in Criminal Justice. I also graduated from the College of DuPage with an Associate of Arts where I graduated with high honors. At the College of DuPage, I took honors classes as well as was a part of the international honor society Phi Theta Kappa, where I also assumed leadership positions. At Lewis University I am a part of Alpha Phi Sigma which is a Criminal Justice Honor Society. While also in school, I work for the Carol Stream Park District as both a team lead for the concession stands as well as a recreation attendant. As a team lead, I am responsible for opening up the stand before a shift and getting all of the equipment and computers up and running, making sure everything is clean, and restocking the stand, while also directing anyone else in the stand on what to do to make the shift run smoothly and that we are prepared. As a recreation attendant, I am responsible for opening up schools and facilities for park district sports, for their games and practices, and watching over them, being there if anything happens. I previously was an intern for the Lombard Police Department. I have the privilege to be able to be with officers 1 on 1 riding with them for half of their shift and joining them on calls and traffic stops. This opportunity that was given to me by the department is astronomically significant in my career journey and has taught me an abundance of things that I will take with me throughout my career. During my free time, I enjoy working out at my local gym; however, I also like getting outside and riding my bike in the many local forest preserves. I enjoy being with my friends and family when possible, doing home improvement projects, and traveling.
