Megan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Master of Education from the University of Oklahoma in 2006 and 2008. She is now a doctoral candidate in the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education at OU. She became an academic advisor at OU in February 2014.She served as the College of Arts and Sciences Advisory Council on Academic Advising Vice President (2015), President (2015-2016), and Secretary (2016-2017). In 2017 and 2018, Megan served as the chair of the professional development committee for the Provost's Advisory Council on Academic Advising and was a member of the PACAA executive council from 2016 to 2018. She is a member of NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising and has given numerous presentations at state, regional, and national conferences. Megan was the OU PACAA Executive Council President (2018-2020) and the NACADA Region 7 state liaison for Oklahoma (2018-2020). Currently, Megan is the chair of the PACAA Academic Advising Fee Council, as well as a member of OU's Staff Senate Staff Initiatives Committee and the NACADA Research Committee.In 2015, Megan received the College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Outstanding Advising Award, followed by the Provost's Outstanding Academic Advising Award in 2017 and the NACADA Outstanding Advisor Award (primary role) in 2018. The University of Oklahoma Staff Senate awarded Megan the E. Neal Stone Superior Performance Award in 2023.In addition to scholarly and professional activities, Megan spends her time training for and participating in running events of various distances and attending OU athletic events.
