As Visitor Experience Supervisor, I work to deliver an excellent day to day visitor experience across the gallery. I ensure that all visitor operations run smoothly; managing opening & closing procedures; & respond to any health and safety or security issues. I maintain a working knowledge of the collection & temporary exhibitions as well as promote THW membership, donations, events, retail offer & the café. I have line management responsibility for a third of the Visitor Experience team, including Visitor Experience Assistants & Gallery Host volunteers. I assist in developing & delivering training to ensure we have a highly motivated & skilled team who are able to deliver a knowledgeable, friendly & professional service at all times.I manage staff & volunteer performance through regular communication (1 to 1s, team meetings etc.) & annual appraisals.­I support the Visitor Experience team in all daily activity including welcome desk duties, gallery invigilation, event & group bookings & tours.­I operate EPOS & payment software systems accurately & efficiently in accordance with THW financial procedures, this involves producing daily financial reconciliation reports & assisting in investigating any financial discrepancies­I manage & develop staff & volunteer rotas ensuring that staffing levels meet operational & budgetary requirements.­I provide clear direction & supervision to all team members including volunteers, guiding activity, listening to their needs, giving constructive feedback & ensuring continued development & high performance of all team members.­I develop & deliver training to ensure a highly motivated & skilled team, recognising any knowledge or skill gaps within the team & respond accordingly.
