For more than 75 years, the nonprofit National Housing Conference (NHC) has been the nation’s premier public policy and housing advocacy organization. A membership drawn from every industry segment forms the foundation for NHC’s broad, nonpartisan advocacy for national policies and legislation that promote suitable housing in a safe, decent environment. The Center for Housing Policy is NHC's research affiliate. In partnership with NHC and its members, the Center works to broaden understanding of the Nation’s housing challenges and to examine the impact of policies and programs developed to address these needs.

The National Low Income Housing Coalition is dedicated solely to ending America’s affordable housing crisis. Established in 1974 by Cushing N. Dolbeare, NLIHC educates, organizes, and advocates to ensure decent, affordable housing within healthy neighborhoods for everyone. NLIHC provides up-to-date information, formulates policy, and educates the public on housing needs and the strategies for solutions.
