I am a recent graduate of the University of Central Florida holding a B.S. in Psychology, a B.S. in Criminal Justice with Honors in the Majors, and a certificate in Criminal Profiling. Throughout my 3.5 years at UCF, I have gained a lot of hands-on leadership experience. My service sorority, Omega Phi Alpha, allowed me to serve as new member educator where I taught pledges about the history of the organization and helped them fulfill requirements to activate. I also served as alumnae liaison wherein I maintained contact with our alumnae, planned sisterhood and alumnae events, as well as our semester retreats. I now serve the sorority nationally as the national expansions coordinator, helping new universities develop short-term and long-term goals to start colonies to eventually become active chapters of Omega Phi Alpha. I most recently worked as an intern in the Osceola County Jail all over the facility - I did classification and risk assessments on inmates for the programs pod, case management with inmates one-on-one, assisted the mental health counselor with inmates, and much more. To further my experience with corrections, I conducted my thesis that gave me honors in the major distinction on my Criminal Justice B.S. on the Effect of Family and Social Support on Suicidal Ideation in Jails to help develop policy implications for corrections facilities to try to mitigate this growing issue. I am also a military spouse.
