I am currently completing an Ecology and Conservation internship with AWC. Through this internship I am learning how to become a skilled field ecologist where I am assisting in organising and carrying out:- Chuditch translocations (radiotracking, collar fitting, health checks, trapping and handling)- Drought monitoring of threatened species (camera traps, health monitoring, handling and trapping of Woylies, Bilbies and Greater stick nest rats)- Site abundance surveys of the Red-tailed phascogale (survey design and set up, small mammal handling)- Coordinating scat surveys- Black cockatoo habitat assessments- Frog night surveys and call identification

Ethabuka Reserve, Bedourie, Qld

As an intern ecologist on Ethabuka and Pilungah I am using tasked with the challenge of mapping sites where the highly invasive buffel grass occurs across the two reserves.

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

I analyse data and literature to assess the conservation status of Queensland endemic plant species and outline the necessary species-specific management actions.

I identify frog species based on frog calls that have been recorded through the nation-wide citizen science project, FrogID. The data collected through FrogID provides vital information on how our Australia frog species are responding to a changing environment.

Offshore Eastern Australia

I volunteered on the CSIRO RV Investigator to research the effect of the East Australian Current (EAC) on jellyfish and larval fish communities, from Hobart to Brisbane. We used this data, collectively with previous voyages on the Investigator, to understand the implications of the warming EAC on the jellyfish populations and fish reproduction.
