My primary role in this position was to run the entire Continuing Education, Training, and Workforce Program at the NCCETC. This included delivering, growing, and marketing our cleantech trainings in-person and online. Our workshops and programs ranged from short, certificate classes to the in-depth Renewable Energy Technologies Diploma Series. I also worked with educational institutions and companies directly to create training programs that are specific to their needs and schedules. To market the program, I worked alongside Communications staff to market the training program effectively, including the creation of print and digital ads, content and edits for WordPress website, monthly newsletters, a LinkedIn alumni page, regular training and workforce development stories, a comprehensive marketing plan and SEO campaign.

In this role I led communications and marketing efforts for Green Lancaster, including preparation of content for various social media outlets and a weekly newsletter, which led to a 169% growth of Twitter followers, 65% growth of Instagram followers, and 45% growth of ‘likes’ on Facebook in under 12 months. I also supervised 2.5 student staff members working under the engagement team umbrella for Green Lancaster.

Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan Area

In this role I developed a budget, garden plan, and lesson plans to create and expand an experiential learning garden space located at Camp O'Malley, a Boys and Girls Club summer camp for at-risk youth located outside Grand Rapids. I also implemented garden workshops to allow approximately 700 campers over the course of 8 weeks to gain hands-on gardening experience and increase their awareness of food systems and their relationship with food.

Chicá, Panama

In this role I developed lesson plans and co-facilitated weekly environmental education activities for over 140 youth ranging from 4 to 18 years of age, resulting in a marked improvement in basic environmental awareness, a school recycling program, and an organic garden. I also assisted other Volunteers and Peace Corps staff on various initiatives, including educational workshops, environmental camps, training efforts, and collection of educational resources.

In this role I promoted various sustainability initiatives via programs, outreach events, social media outlets, and development of educational materials and brought together various partners and stakeholders to promote environmental sustainability on campus and within the local community. I also worked with partners and stakeholders to develop new programs, such as the “Green Stewards” program which promoted campus-wide behavior change through student engagement.
