Greater Chicago Area

- Administered educational programming for the 2019 edition of the Biennial, including tours for visitors of all ages, youth and family events, and youth-focused design studios- Co-managed the Biennial volunteer program comprised of 80 volunteers; specific duties included developing and leading trainings and resources, daily volunteer management, and overseeing the volunteer Learning & Gallery Guides- Built relationships with Chicago school administrators and teachers to offer students civically engaged, culturally relevant architecture and design learning experiences at the Biennial and in schools

- Collaborated with a team of 30 classroom teachers, docents, staff, and other consultants to reconceive 1st-12th grade school tour offerings at the Art Institute of Chicago- Researched and adapted approaches to teaching that encourage learning across cultural differences and similarities with an emphasis on fostering empathy and critical inquiry- Responsible for section of the Art Across Cultures tour curriculum focused on “scenes from everyday life” that encourages students to critically reflect on the aspects of culture that influence our understanding and experience of “everyday life” for ourselves and others- Presented model of the reconceived Art Across Cultures tour for feedback and evaluation

- Researched and designed tour curricula tailored to age groups ranging from 4th grade to senior citizens for the exhibition "Then They Came for Me: Japanese American Incarceration during WWII and the Demise of Civil Liberties"- Trained and managed a team of 7 gallery educators to facilitate discussion-oriented guided tours, including tours in American Sign Language- Coordinated tours for over 2,100 students in the Midwest region, accounting for nearly half of all exhibition tour participants- Conducted a teacher workshop with 15 local educators on the topic of using images to facilitate student learning and dialogue around social justice issues- Curated an interactive installation called “Beyond Resistance: Reclaiming Democracy” designed to prompt visitor reflections on the exhibition content and related subjects of contemporary social justice
