Advanced the implementation of evidenced-based practices throughout the Adult Probation Department, including probation officer Risk Reduction training. Improved community safety outcomes through applied research and continuous improvement with the Policy, Planning, and Analysis Division of MCAPD. Through analysis of monthly statistics, worked to identify discrepancies between officer-generated and automated data so the department can transition to solely automated reporting, reducing the workload of line staff.

Conducted quantitative and qualitative analysis researching the effect of transitional housing providers on community supervision revocation rates. Based on the findings of my research, developed policies to improve offender supervision outcomes by applying the risk, need, responsivity model when assisting newly-released offenders determine a housing placement.

Managed a team of undergraduate students as they developed and implemented programs to engage students in service leadership and provide them with resources to catalyze social change in our community. Managed the $20,000 Woodside Community Action Grant and coordinated service opportunities engaging ASU students in almost 10,000 hours of service.

Implemented evidenced-based process improvement techniques across the organization to improve case management, incident reporting, facility maintenance, and stakeholder satisfaction. Through analysis of monthly incident reporting, identified key policy changes leading to a reduction in critical incidents by 75%. Emphasized expanding employee participation in continuous improvement practices through training and education and focusing on organizational culture, recruiting 12 new employees to serve on committees. Prepared the Performance and Quality Improvement Unit to gain accreditation through the Council on Accreditation.

Served over 1,700 hours building local nonprofit capacity and participated in community-based diversity and leadership trainings on a biweekly basis. In addition to my full-time placement, I was able to collaborate with Community Education Services, Inc. in the role of project manager and volunteer recruiter for the STEM Summer Academy, an education summer camp for youth in Phoenix.

Provided case management services to public housing residents in the HOPE VI property and partnered with local agencies in the greater Central City South community in the planning of community events such as the Community Connections Fair and the Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods event. Designed a survey for the community with the goal of increasing participation in and accessibility of HOPE VI services to residents.
