I oversee the management of our After-Hours team, which includes scheduling, team maintenance (hiring, onboarding and training new staff), team support (leading meetings and coaching one-on-one), and after-hours community development (staff and volunteers), with the goal of building late night and after-hours community and increasing support to service users (e.g. increasing calls answered, reducing wait times).

I presented distress and crisis counselling concepts and facilitated training exercises for our new volunteer groups of up to 70 individuals via Zoom. I also conducted evaluations on an individual basis prior to volunteers being onboarded.

I supported the management of our volunteers and program delivery for all DCOGT programs after-hours (408-HELP, Spectra, 988, CrisisLink, PARO). This included volunteer and intern supervision, monitoring and providing program coverage as needed, debriefing, providing feedback, on-call support, and coaching for distress and crisis counselling skills and solution-focused brief therapy via Teams.

I worked with my team to meet our sales objectives by fielding 300-500 phone, e-mail and website inquiries monthly. I followed up with these leads, provided recommendations based on their criteria, and communicated the intricacies of group travel and destination weddings to ensure clients understood the process. I also reviewed invoices, wrote contracts, and represented our brand at wedding trade shows and special events.

I managed group travel for 25-30 wedding couples and 600-800 of their guests at any given time. I provided individualized service to each client, and worked to understand their unique and specific needs to ensure the best possible service. I also developed strong, positive and trustworthy relationships with our travel suppliers.

I played an important role in the success of our trainee groups of 20-30 through various training activities, such as daily walk-around support to answer questions related to products and procedures, providing information about compliance requirements and morning Q&A training sessions. My emotional intelligence and ability to empathize during learning moments and weekly coaching sessions allowed me to excel in this role.

I coached do-it-yourselfers with hourly consulting, came in at the end of the planning process to check for potential itinerary or vendor issues while preparing to coordinate (execute) for those who had completed the bulk of their own planning, and worked with clients from concept or engagement to the end with full, comprehensive planning.

I was responsible for coordinating the logistics for all events, which included supervising other staff, marketing and promotion, collecting and reporting metrics data, and building and maintaining relationships with members and partners.

I led small experiential event teams and ensured that they had everything they needed to represent our clients during trade shows and public events. Our focus was to engage attendees and encourage them to learn more about the features of the product or service through interactive conversations.

I assisted the owner of the agency, and a manager who had built a strong wedding travel market with booking their clients, product research, marketing materials, website and social media content, as well as hosting informational sessions for tours and cruises.

I gained a tremendous amount of problem-solving and leadership experience at CauseForce. I planned and managed the overall route and supplies operations while coordinating staff, volunteers and other resources. Also during my time at CauseForce I was able to improve procedures for route mapping, site layout design, event upload/download and on-event command centre communications, as well as cut our supplies budget in half by conducting a detailed inventory well before each event.

I was hired at the MTCC after graduating university for a maternity leave contract. I assisted the local corporate and SMERF market sales managers with their proposals and contracts, site tours, as well as handling their convention spin-off business and smaller meetings.

During my time at Signature I established trusting relationships with our travel agency clients and took over 3 large key accounts for bookings of 10+ passenger destination weddings, and received employee of the month in recognition of being a great team player, going above and beyond my responsibilities. I left Signature to pursue my Bachelor of Commerce.

I handled wedding, sports team and other smaller room blocks and site tours, internal meetings space and catering, all reporting for Sales, Catering, and Executive departments, and hosted weekly VIP receptions for 30-50 hotel guests. I left the Hilton London to relocate to Toronto.

I was chosen to source budget-appropriate hotels and negotiate rates and contract terms in our brand new, untested US market. After six months I built up to a 52% booking conversion rate.

I began at ASA as a college co-op student, was hired on a permanent basis, and made a lateral move from Team Specialist to US Quote Specialist three months later.

Throughout high school and both of my college diplomas, I worked in back-of-house, front-of-house, and supervisory roles in multiple hospitality businesses from independent establishments to international chains.
