The UCA OT Department was undergoing major change since before I came on in May 2019. I began in this department as the third Administrative Specialist II and within a years time, became the only Administrative Specialist III. I worked alongside the chairperson, faculty, and students to support them, as well as encouraged growth and stability.

I worked as the administrative support to the Associate Director and two Assistant Directors of UCA Career Services from 2015-2019. This job gave me the opportunity to assist with several big programs, to be involved with the students of UCA, and to better myself in the role. As the Administrative Specialist, I always had a minimum of 5 student workers that I supervised. Throughout my time, I gained many good managerial skills and was always evolving as a supervisor.

I joined Delta Technologies during college as part time and went full time after graduating. During my time in this role, I grew significantly in my skills and personal life. I learned what it is like to work with customers in the service industry, as well as how to make quotes, respond to bids, manage social media, order equipment, and create purchase orders and invoices. I also performed all normal administrative tasks.When I began working with Delta Technologies, they had just made some major changes to the company. The company had just been purchased by a new owner and moved locations. I came in right in time to help organize the new location, as well as update all records concerning the changes. In doing so, I created a company Facebook page and updated the website.

I worked alongside another intern to learn form the Missionary Care Director. We learned how to adequately love and support missionaries around the globe. Our main focus was on the missionary wives, as sometimes they can be overlooked. Being a missionary family is very taxing on all involved. We began a weekly check in with several of the wives to make sure their needs were being met. We also met with missionary families as they were preparing their journeys and returning home. In doing this, we made sure they had the proper care for the big change in their lives. A lot of times, this can come with culture shock and other extreme emotions. We were there to be their support.

I was apart of the sales team. This job carried a lot of duties including working the cash register, assisting customers, consignment intake, hanging clothes, organizing, cleaning the store, decorating, and so much more. I worked closely with the owners, the other sales associates, and the customers. This job was a great experience, as I learned a lot about customer service, diligence, and what responsibilities come with working retail.
