Responsible for playing a lead role in advancing geospatial capacity, analysis and workflows within WCS Canada through the development of custom geospatial solutions and scripting of novel workflows. I serve as an in-house geospatial/GIS data expert and advise on the development of geoprocessing workflows and best practices for WCS Canada and WCS Global initiatives. In this role I plan and lead geospatial analysis and programming projects in Python and R, and I also lead the development of geospatial science communications products.I meet these responsibilities through geospatial analysis, development of custom tools and scripts, creating web maps, web apps and other geospatial communications products, writing peer-reviewed publications, providing advice, mentorship and technical training, and promoting the adoption of new technologies.Tasks:• Provide innovative custom geospatial solutions to advance the conservation objectives for local and national conservation programs.• Leverage geospatial tools and implement best practices to strengthen WCS Canada’s conservation research.• Develop and support the use of Story Maps and other web-based mapping applications for external information sharing and communications.• Provide high level geospatial support and leadership to WCS Canada.• Collaborate with partners utilizing geospatial technologies to achieve mutually beneficial conservation outcomes.

Responsible for conducting geospatial analyses, developing geospatial tools in Python, and creating front-end products (maps, story maps, dashboards, interactive visualizations) to help achieve the conservation goals for the Ontario Northern Boreal (ONB) Landscape Program and the Canada Key Biodiversity Areas (KBA) Program.Key Projects:• Lead author on our paper "Freshwater conservation planning in the far north of Ontario, Canada: identifying priority watersheds for the conservation of fish biodiversity in an intact boreal landscape" published in FACETS, and co-author on other papers.• Developed an Esri Python Toolbox and tools which I distributed via Github for the KBA program regional coordinators to perform data filtering and species scoping tasks.• Developed online review tools using Esri Survey123 and Esri Dashboards with custom URL parameters to facilitate the technical and general reviews of proposed Key Biodiversity Areas.• Developed an Esri Dashboard to show the status and progress on the delineation of Key Biodiversity Areas in Canada.• Helped develop and maintain components of the spatial database for the KBA program that was developed using PostgreSQL and ArcGIS Enterprise deployed in Microsoft Azure.• Developed multiple Esri Story Maps for the ONB Program showcasing different research projects including: "Northern Peatlands in Canada", "The Water We Share - A Freshwater Story Map", and "How mineral exploration affecting caribou in Ontario".

Member of the Transboundary Hydrographic Data Harmonization Task Force (THDHTF) working to delineate watershed boundaries along the Canada/USA border under the direction of the International Joint Commission (IJC). Conducted LiDAR hydrological enforcement for a number of river systems in Ontario. Duties included generating terrain datasets from LiDAR point cloud data, digitizing river systems and streams, assigning elevations to river profiles and QA/QC.

Performed watershed delineation for 500+ monitoring sites and 7000+ stream segments in the Lake Simcoe region using ArcHydro. Attributed landscape and field-measured variables (surficial geology, base flow index, stream slope, fish catches and weights) to the individual watersheds. Analyzed, generated and validated geometric networks of stream flow in the Lake Simcoe region using ESRI Network Analyst. Compiled and validated a series of maps and metadata documents on stream habitat in the Greater Toronto Area using data from Conservation Authorities and the Flowing Waters Information System (FWIS) database which was collected using the Ontario Stream Analysis Protocol (OSAP). Created specific maps of the Lake Simcoe watersheds, including: stream barriers, stream temperature, baseflow discharge and benthic communities to examine the cumulative effects on watersheds.
