• Under general supervision, provide basic life support and pre-hospital emergency medical care to patients who are ill/injured within established protocol and medical direction. • Transport patients and use clinical judgment to assesses the extent of an illness/injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures to follow; use to head-to-toe exam, patient history, vitals (level of consciousness, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, lung sounds, blood sugar, pupil… Show more • Under general supervision, provide basic life support and pre-hospital emergency medical care to patients who are ill/injured within established protocol and medical direction. • Transport patients and use clinical judgment to assesses the extent of an illness/injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures to follow; use to head-to-toe exam, patient history, vitals (level of consciousness, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, lung sounds, blood sugar, pupil measurements, etc.) to create differential diagnosis and determine severity and proper route of patient care.• Perform other medical exams and emergency procedures during the ambulance transport, including but not limited ECGs (4- and 12-leads), provide IV therapy and prepare medications/advanced airways for paramedic partner, administer epinephrine, albuterol inhalers, CPAP, nebulizers, etc.• Support paramedic partner with scene safety, prehospital medical procedures.• Perform testing of emergency equipment and maintains supplies. • Provide pre-arrival notifications to receiving Emergency Departments, and communicates with Paramedic Dispatchers.• Communicate with patient family/bystanders, build rapport and provide education.
