Dr. Mehrdad Kashani received a B.Sc. degree in Physics from Beheshti University, Tehran in 1994. In February 1994, he became a full-time graduate student at Sharif University in Tehran. His area of specialization was plasma physics and laser diagnostics in fusion devices. He received a Master of Science degree in physics in October 1997. The title of his thesis was ”Single channel HCN Laser interferometer for electron density measurement in Tokamak”.From 1997 to 1998 he joined the Plasma Physics Research Center(PPRC) in Azad University in Tehran. During this period he worked on several research projects in plasma physics field. He was awarded a Japanese Government fellowship for his research on z-pinch and plasma focus experiments at Nihon University from October 1998 until April 2000. In April 2000 he was accepted as a Ph.D. student at College of Science and Technology in Nihon University and he received his Ph.D. degree in April, 2003. The title of his Ph.D. Thesis was ”Energy Dissipation in Run-Down Phase of Mather-Type Plasma Focus Discharges”. After graduation from Nihon University he jointed to the Atomic Science Research Laboratory (ASRL) as a research scientist till 2012. He worked on the high density plasma and its application (Plasma-Focus, Z-pinch and ... ).
