After 2 decades in the banking industry, I have become a business owner! As I am particularly passionate about working with children, I have bought a Bricks 4 Kids franchise. It is very fulfilling to see youngsters develop their science, technology, engineering, art and maths skills. Bricks 4 Kidz programmes are designed to trigger young children’s lively imaginations and build their self-confidence. Our programmes provide a safe, relaxed learning environment where initiative is invited and self-expression is celebrated. Building models provide opportunities for problem-solving and help kids develop an appreciation for how things work. All this takes place while kids are having fun and socialising in a non-competitive atmosphere.Prior to this new adventure, I had a strong financial and banking background with over 20 years' experience. My career included Wealth Adviser at Westpac, a leading role at NZ Funds Management Financial Services Support team, Branch Manager, Senior Associate Manager and Retail Regional Manager at BNZ. As part of my commitment to the financial industry I dedicated a number of years to the IFA Certified financial Planner mentoring programme where I successfully mentored a number of Financial Planners. I was also a representative member of the BNZ Diversity and Inclusion Council and a co-lead on the BNZ Asian Employee Resource Committee.My leadership style is consultative and collaborative with a focus on developing and empowering others to achieve a united objective. Whatever I embark on I believe in making a difference. I also believe in being an authentic leader and the importance of leading by example.When faced with any challenges, I always give it a go. I have always lived by the quote from Henry Ford, 'if you think you can do it, or if you think you can’t, you’re right'.I believe in cultivating a workplace that strongly promotes diversity and inclusion which leads to a much higher performing culture. This is my passion and where I believe I can make a difference.
