• Engineering, research and design consulting company in the field of RF and microwave components and test systems• Designed, tested and delivered numerous RF and microwave components and subsystems including high power and broadband amplifiers, antennas, power dividers, directional couplers, filters, attenuators and transceiver products. • Developed test equipment automation programs and systems to measure and archive data from transmitter and receiver products. The programs were optimized to improve throughput of production components. The software platforms included Agilent VEE and NI-Labview.• Developed application notes, technical articles and training courses. The topics included testing components and systems based on LTE, WiMAX, UWB, Bluetooth and RFID wireless standards. Other technical articles included advanced measurement techniques using high performance test equipment such as the vector network analyzer. Articles and training material were developed for external customers and sales engineers.

Design and development of advanced antenna and communications products for the wireless and military industries

• Designed and developed advanced signal processing algorithms for locating and tracking passive RFID tags. Designed RFID transceivers for smart antenna applications. The algorithms and transceivers were integrated into a test-bed system to verify the performance. Several patents were awarded as a result of this research.• Engineering manager for the eleven-member research and development team. Responsible for the $1.3M budget of the RFID team. Also managed several outside consultants and university research programs. • Member of the EPCGlobal Hardware Action Group (HAG). Involved in the development of the Generation 2, Class 1 tag protocol. • Member of the technical due diligence for the acquisition of the venture-backed RFID startup, Matrics.

• Part of a three member team that created the business plan and financial statements to close first round financing of $15M from three venture capital groups; Tallwood Venture, Lucent Venture Partners and Soros Private Equity.• Managed the RF design team for the prototype development of OC-768 and OC-192 RF subsystems.

• Provided technical and business leadership and support in the delivery of strategic, complex and advanced test and measurement systems with applications up to 110 GHz. • Provided pre-sales and post-sales support to the customer and internal staff for the introduction of new and emerging technologies. Effectively communicated the company’s value proposition to the customer.• Provided technical and marketing information to the New Product Introduction (NPI) team during the development of advanced test equipment products. • Reviewed customer specifications and test requirements to design, deliver and/or specify advanced test systems and software automation platforms.• Developed a prototype microwave test system for measuring the group delay linearity of LMDS and satellite frequency converters. The system was displayed at the IEEE MTT ‘98 and SatCom Conferences ‘98 and ‘99. • Awarded four patents covering innovative techniques for measuring the group delay of frequency converters including the time domain technique based on reflection measurements.

• Provided sales and engineering support at a global RF/Microwave component distributor. Key customers included wireless and military accounts in the Metro NY area. Reached 150% of sales quota.

• Designed, fabricated and tested active and passive components for radar transmitter and receiver applications. These components used microstrip and stripline technologies covering frequency ranges from 400 MHz through 26.5 GHz. These components included power dividers, couplers, power amplifiers, coax-to-microstrip transitions and dipole and phase array antennas.• Principal Investigator for the development of Solid State Transmit/Receive (T/R) modules. These T/R modules utilized GaAs MMIC components for high power and low noise operation. Maintained verbal and written correspondence with customer by providing monthly progress reports and quarterly technical meetings.• Principal Investigator and Cost Account Manager for the design, development and test of a microstrip transfer switch used in high-reliability radar systems. Initiated and presented successful proposal effort to generate new business with the customer.• Designed and tested amplifier components using microstrip and waveguide elements.
