Mel Evans Email and Phone Number
I'm an architectural designer, whose interests lie in sustainability, assisting underserved communities and in public projects such as workplace, education, community spaces, multi-family housing, affordable housing, etc. I am currently located in Seattle, WA. Previously I was in New Orleans, LA, where I earned my Masters degree at Tulane School of Architecture. I have also worked in Saint Paul, MN; Boston, MA; the Panamanian rainforest (near Chepo); and Bahia de Caraquez, Ecuador. I am a LEED AP BD&C, and am working towards licensure. I am looking for a longer term role where I can flourish in design, coordination and collaboration. I also have a background in photography, historic preservation, the arts (sculpture, ceramics, furniture, drawing and music). I have also worked in various positions in the food industry and customer service for about a decade.

Architectural InternEarth Train Jun 2015 - Aug 2016PanamaEarth Train is a non-profit based in the rainforest in Mamoni Valley, Panama; it's focus is on environmental education and sciences, and community outreach. It works very closely with two companies, Experience Mamoni and Rainforest Capital, both exemplary sustainable business models. My job as an architectural intern was to create a vision for the future of their rainforest campus, where they host volunteers, interns, scientists, and groups. This included interviewing all of the campus' users for a cohesive list of improvements and projects, and to draw (and design) all existing and future buildings on the site. I also worked with staff on projects away from the main campus, such as designing a home for groups in a nearby town; helping Rainforest Capital with building projects; and assisting a local architect, Patrick Dillon, in his work with ET and RC. -
