Currently a Crime Scene Investigator (and professional violinist in my spare time) I left university having achieved a 2:1 honours degree in BSc (Hons) Forensic and Biomolecular Sciences and also completed the Fnd Forensic Science degree at Teeside University in 2014.I began my career as a cashier at the Nationwide Building Society learning skills in customer service, sales techniques, and general finance. Having the ability to learn quickly, engage with the general public and exceed targets (I was the company's top Customer Representative for 6 months out of the 2 1/2 years I worked with them) I was quickly promoted to Customer Service Manager which required me to act as Branch Manager as and when required. In my new role I also developed employee training, auditing and leadership skills. My current role as a Crime Scene Investigator demands a high level of organisation, ability to meet deadlines, flexibility, attention to detail and resilience in what can be very emotionally demanding situations. I regularly work with all levels of seniorities and specialist disciplines (eg Fire Investigators, Forensic Specialists, Archaeologists, Detectives).Outside of work I am a violinist and a member of the Ely Sinfonia. My services as a 'pit player' are also regularly sought after by local operatic societies. Other than performing music I make, custom design and paint musical instruments, many having been commission based. I also spend numerous hours producing contemporary and abstract canvas paintings. In October 2017 I co-founded the East of England Musical Theatre Orchestra which welcomes instrumentalists and singers from skilled-amateur level to pro. The Orchestra puts on playthroughs of musical theatre shows (all in a day) bringing the community together and also provides a platform for up and coming performers to hone their stage skills and to sing with a full symphony orchestra in an unpressurised environment.
