My name is Melanie. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I have achieved a Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology from the University of Guelph-Humber and a Children’s Mental Health Certificate from Humber College. I place importance on having clients be the experts of their care, place their needs central in therapy, and aid in guiding them toward goals set together. I strive to create positive change through collaboration and authentic connections with clients. Drawing from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic practices, I aim to create a safe and inviting environment for all clients of different ages. I focus on the unique abilities and nature of individuals and builds therapeutic relationships that allow clients to feel comfortable and safe in expressing their needs. I focus on helping clients with of depression, anxiety, ADHD, conflict resolution, life transitions, and stress management in children, adolescents, adults, and families. I utilize an integrative approach that allows me to work from various treatment modalities to meet the unique and specific needs of clients. I specifically work within the frame sets of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Client-Centred Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I continue to broaden my range of treatment models to meet the needs of new and current clients.
