Store ManagerHotel Chocolat Sep 2006 - Oct 2008 The store in Maidstone was a brand new premium chocolate confectioner, when I was employed as Assistant Manager within a satellite of stores within the area. This meant that I ran the day to day running of the store but reported into a store manager who ran the Bromley branch. Within six weeks of the store opening I was offered the position of store manager. I had a team of six direct reports made up of an assistant manager, a senior sales and four customer assistants. I really enjoyed this job as it gave me time to focus on customer service and training my team in the art of selling.We were selling a lifestyle as opposed to a chocolate bar, it was all about the experience. I found my time here exceptionally engaging. As Hotel Chocolat was in its early stages when I joined them I was able to get involved in influencing other branches. We trained new managers and staff ready for new branch openings. I was involved in the recruitment of staff in my store and other stores. By the time I left Hotel Chocolat I was running between Maidstone, Lakeside and Bromley stores whilst they recruited new managers. -
