I am currently the Director of HR and People at BSRI, and have been with the organization since 2020, currently part of the Executive Leadership team. I was born and raised in Miami, FL and come from Cuban immigrant parents. After my undergrad a MDC and FIU, I became a Florida Bar Certified Paralegal while practicing in the Immigration and Criminal Defense fields. I am a notary for the state of Florida and a certified translator in the English and Spanish languages. My passion has always been to help people and I have been involved in the community by volunteering my immigration and legal expertise to the immigrant population looking to adjust status in the U.S. I have assisted in pro-bono Special Immigrant Juvenile cases for the state alongside my previous supervising attorneys. I also currently participate in different community initiatives such as the annual NAMI Walk, with the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization in support of their mission to promote awareness of mental health and reduce stigma while raising funds for mental health programs. As the Director of HR & People at BSRI, I wears many hats. I am responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR, organizational communications, and company culture. I ensure BSRI has a stellar team by leading the search and on-boarding of new members, whilst overseeing the design, development, and integration of policies, systems, and procedures to effect organizational change. I head the planning and execution of BSRI events, and I am passionate about enabling my talented team to do their best work in what I consider BSRI to be-- “the ideal workplace.” I oversees the organization’s accounting tasks with BSRI’s external partners and help lead strategic plan initiatives across the organization. My ongoing focus is on expanding BSRI’s collaborative and people-centered culture to drive success and impact.As of recently, you can also find me speaking at business and HR leadership conferences, where I address HR hot topics. My latest appearances focused on the relationship between finance and HR, and BSRI’s approach to alignment and cross-pollination.
