After a few years of studying fine arts painting in Europe, London and Stuttgart respectively, I returned to the states with a passion for the human form and movement. After some years of further university studies I chose to blend my yearning to work with my hands and interest in anatomy/kinesiology by attending The Massage Institute of Memphis. Upon my graduation from The Massage Institute, I began a 4 year apprenticeship in the Pilates Method. It was a philosophically and spiritually enriching period of my life during which I studied hatha yoga and The Gyrotonic Method as well. For 17 years the study and practice of movement therapy, in a multitude of forms, brought joy to my existence. In 2012 my son was born and this shift lead me back toward my roots as a visual artist. My son was born into a family business of architectural lighting design and sales. In 2015 I began working in the office. During this time numerous customer service and creative marketing skills, previously dormant in my skill set, came shining into light and it has been thrilling. My duties include but are not limited to online marketing, social media marketing, mass marketing both digital and old school paper mail outs. I have spent much time learning the industry and product specifications related to the installation and performance of industrial, exterior, interior and decorative lighting. I also manage the office calendar including scheduling and booking luncheon presentations with various architecture and engineering firms for up to 30 people. Often, I give Power Point presentations, demonstrate product performance and maintain contact follow ups thereafter. My inside sales experience includes cold calling, strategic marketing, customer service, following leads, data entry, generating quotes, PO's, email marketing and other basic office duties. Fun stuff!
