I recently rejoined Ting Internet to manage digital equity partnerships and support adoption in new urban markets. Will be working cross-functionally internally and closely with community-based organizations to launch collaborative digital equity programs and universal broadband adoption campaigns.

Worked with the Broadband Equity Partnership team at HR&A to support cities, counties, and states with their broadband and digital equity strategies. Was immersed in local engagement, cross-agency coordination, grant applications, and ISP partnership strategies to help public sector entities improve broadband competition, speeds, and reliability in their communities

Working with Ting's VP of Public Policy and Government Affairs to develop our policy agenda and digital inclusion initiatives in all of our markets, monitoring broadband grant funds and project managing Ting's active applications, and collaborating with city staff in prospective cities to solidify partnerships around constructing ubiquitous fiber optic networks to bring their residents and businesses gigabit-speed internet!

Developed Ting’s local strategy to address the digital divide, built around providing free fiber internet access to residents in affordable housing. Also managed Ting's implementation of the federal Emergency Broadband Benefit and the transition to the Affordable Connectivity Program, monitored federal and state broadband policy, drafted grant applications, and contributed to Ting’s fiber advocacy efforts across the US.

Fourth addition to the Tucows/Ting Policy team, leading research on all U.S. and Canadian policy concerning fiber internet. Currently focused on sourcing public funding opportunities for broadband development, working to bridge the digital divide in all Ting Towns (https://ting.com/internet), and tracking developments in broadband legislation at the state and federal level.

Co-managed Redistricting in America, a comprehensive written analysis of the development of redistricting policy in state and federal courts and legislatures; wrote an evaluation of California’s standardized testing program and an article for the Inland Empire Outlook on current charter school reform in California.

Over the past three years, I worked with the Free Food for Thought team as it has expanded from 8 to nearly 25 students and published 80+ interviews on iTunes, Soundcloud, and Sticher. In managing this fully student-led podcast, I oversee the editing, interviewing, and publicity teams and have personally interviewed several guests in-studio and before live audiences, including interviews with Samantha Power, Michael Shear, and Ron Klain.

At Tucows, I helped the organization's first Director of Policy develop a policy strategy for their U.S business unit, Ting, which builds fiber internet and provides phone service as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). In this role, I drafted Tucows’ responses to the Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Commission regarding the introduction of mobile virtual network operators in Canada to improve competition in the telecommunications market. Throughout the summer, I also developed a searchable tech policy ‘wiki’ for their incoming Director of Public Policy and Head of Government Affairs.

Co-organized the annual Young Women in Political Leadership Program at Georgetown University, hosting 100+ high school young women in residence; worked on institutional grants, helped conduct a nationwide survey of female elected officials, and supported the Running Start staff in coordinating leadership and networking events for D.C.-area women
